Leo Medina’s love for music grew out of admiration for his big brother Pablo, an influential DJ in their hometown of Beunos Aires, Argentina. At 10 years old Leo was sneaking into raves to watch Pablo perform. By 14 he was promoting house music at “matinee clubs” for 13-17 year old kids.
While studying at Santa Monica City College, Leo landed a job working for Los Angeles restaurant/nightlift mogul and fellow Argentinean Adolfo Suaya. Leo was ahead of his time musically and faced several challenges to break into the industry. The Los Angeles house music scene was still very underground, he was a foreigner in a far away land, and other than birthday parties for his friends he didn’t have a platform to launch his brand of music.
His big break finally came when Suaya offered him a promotion managing Hollywood hotspot Goa. Leo now had a venue to launch his career. He found himself networking with, trading music, and perfecting his technique with some of Hollywood’s biggest DJ’s. A year later he opened Suaya’s Bar Delux. With residencies in Lost Angeles, Texas, and South America, Leo is quickly becoming well regarded as one of the most in-demand house and open format DJ’s in Los Angeles and Miami.
